40 Under Forty Award

Truly an honor...

I was recently notified that I was selected to be part of the Class of 2015 Dayton's 40 Under Forty Award.  What an honor it has been, and I am thankful for those who nominated me and also to those who narrowed down the winners.

A special thanks goes to James Mahan, the photographer who passed shortly after completing this photo shoot.  What a talented man; gone too soon.  It is appropriate that he took this picture of me holding the hourglass, which represents the fact that we all have a limited amount of time here, and we don't know how much we have left.  So we must develop ourselves into the best version that we can possibly be, and live this gift that we have been given!

Semper Fi.

Thank you Troy Daily News!

I was recently interviewed for the release of my book for veterans, and then featured as the headline on the front page of the Troy Daily Newspaper last week.  What a great experience, and the paper did an outstanding job in their write-up and visual.  I appreciate the media coverage; it has already led to veterans having this knowledge in their hands that would not have otherwise.

Let's keep this country moving forward.

  Veterans, join the MOVEMENT!

Thank you!

As many of you know, I recently published a book titled "How to Succeed in the Civilian World, For Military Veterans."  This has been a long process that I have thoroughly enjoyed, and I want to say THANK YOU to all those people who helped make it happen, from the support my family showed while I wrote night after night, to the editors, to the great mentors I've had in my life, to all those veterans that raised their hand in front of the flag and offered themselves in defense of this great country.  Thank you for the inspiration and for giving me a reason to start this project.

Now let's keep ourselves and this country moving forward!

Like sand through an hourglass...

I was flipping through radio channels the other day in the car, and I accidentally ran across a song that talked about how fast 100 years (life) goes by, and we should enjoy our time alive.

Great song!  I'm not really a big country music fan, but I'm definitely going to find that song.

We all get one hourglass that is nailed to the table, and that's it.  That sand is falling right now, and it doesn't stop.  Do everything you can to enjoy the time you've got.  Stay appreciative.  Stay positive.  Develop yourself to full potential.
